Awareness Raising of Indigenous Peoples of Nepal for Securing their Rights in Climate Actions and Biodiversity
NEFIN-IWGIA Partnership
NEFIN Climate Change Program in partnership with IWGIA has been undertaking awareness raising, capacity building and advocacy for the rights of indigenous peoples in climate action, since 2009. The overall objective of NEFIN-IWGIA partnership is that indigenous peoples’ rights in climate action are promoted, protected and safeguarded at local and national level in Nepal as well as internationally at the GCF and the UNFCCC. This partnership helps on following.
1. Indigenous women, men and youth of Nepal have capacity to effectively advocate their rights in climate action.
2. Indigenous peoples effectively advocate their rights in national climate policy formulation and implementation including for the NAP, REDD+ and GCF related activities.
3. Indigenous peoples of Nepal effectively advocate their rights in international climate processes including at the GCF and UNFCCC.
