Advocacy and Lobby

NEFIN Climate Change Partnership Program works also on advocacy and lobby to enhance engagement of indigenous peoples with the government agencies, policy makers and relevant actors at both national and community levels. It focuses on advocacy and lobby at national and international forums for the recognition of indigenous peoples’ issues and rights at all levels, and built cooperation with government agencies, like-minded organisations, indigenous peoples organisations (IPOs) in the global South and North. Recognition, respect and promotion of indigenous peoples' rights including the rights enshrined by ILO 169 and United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, in climate change related matters is fundamental to NEFIN's work.
